Break-Up Diet – Live in Hamilton (with special guest Lindy)

Get ready, Hamilton—The Break-Up Diet is coming your way! Written and performed by UK/Canadian powerhouse Tamara Williamson (Mrs. Torrance, King Cobb Steelie, CROW), this raw and at times darkly humorous production dives headfirst into the chaos of heartbreak.

First adapted as an audiobook and then brought to the stage in 2018, Break-Up Diet won The Adams Award for Best New Script at the Toronto Fringe. Since then, it’s earned ★★★★★ reviews in NOW Magazine, was a Toronto Star Top Six Pick, and has wowed audiences at both the Toronto and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

Part theatre, part concert, part live podcast—this show blends hard-hitting original songs, intimate storytelling, and striking film. It’s a one-of-a-kind performance that will make you laugh, cry, and keep you spellbound until the final fire is lit.

Backed by her new band Torrance—featuring long-time collaborator Mitch Girio (King Apparatus), drummer Stephen Pitkin (Eliott Brood) and vocalist/keyboardist Cassie Jones—Williamson delivers a thunderous, immersive experience.

Opening the night is none other than Hamilton’s own local legend Lindy, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

NO PLACE LEFT TO LAND

Lindy's New Single

Lindy’s new single, No Place Left To Land, was written for the Margaret Atwood documentary, “A Word After A Word After A Word is Power.” It’s a fantastic doc about her life, art, and her beautiful love with her late husband.

Please check out Lindy’s upcoming performance at @TheIronwood in Calgary, as part of Calgary Folk Festival’s winter event, BLOCK HEATER.

Thanks very much Jeff Mahoney for this story!

I wrote this song today (May 15) for the times we are in...

This is a song that was inspired by the US election and the prevailing global political landscape. Darkness is the Day was written the morning after the election results came in and it echoes the feelings of many who were shocked by them. This song was released on Inauguration Day and we should all be wide awake now to what lies ahead. Produced by Aimee Bessada, Rebecca Everett and Todor Kobakov in cooperation with the Slaight Music Residency at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto.
